I also have a profile at the ARC Centre for Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders.

Profile

I began my career working in medical imaging and it was during this period that I developed an interest in medical perception. I completed my honours degree in Psychology in 2013 under the supervision of Dr Eugene Chekaluk (Macquarie University) and A/Prof Patrick Brennan (Sydney University). For my honours thesis I investigated the role of fatigue in medical sonographers and their ability to detect breast cancer using a variety of methods including eye-tracking.

I commenced my PhD in 2013 under the supervision of A/Prof. Anina Rich (Macquarie University) and Dr Susan Wardle (Macquarie University). My current research aims to further investigate medical perception by studying radiologists’ visual search. Specifically, I intend to research and understand the role of expertise with regard to visual search strategies along with the associated perceptual and cognitive errors that may occur.
