Incorporating learning mechanisms into the dual-route cascaded (DRC) model of reading aloud and word recognition.

The dual-route cascaded (DRC) model of reading aloud and word recognition is a static model. It simulates skilled reading, or, by lesioning the model, it can simulate acquired reading disorders. However, it does not presently simulate the process of learning to read. My research seeks to explore the inclusion of learning mechanisms into the DRC model.
