Thesis Details

Neural processing of stress and phrase boundaries in speech and music.

My research is on the role of auditory processing in Specific Language Impairment (SLI). The research aims to examine the possibility that an auditory deficit affects the perception of prosodic cues which gives rise to SLI. Using both behavioural and neurophysiological methods, this research aims to study how the prosodic cues in verbal (speech) and non-verbal (music) stimuli are perceived by children with SLI.
