Profile

We interact with others and the world around us with our body. The major focus of my research has been to find out how and where in the brain multisensory body information is processed and integrated; to understand the mechanisms which underlie the formation and updating of distinct representations for one’s own body and other bodies; and to investigate how specific body-related representations modulate perception and action.

I received a Psychology degree from the University of Tübingen (2006) and a Master of Science degree from the Graduate School of Neural and Behavioural Sciences/International Max Planck Research School in Tübingen (2004). In 2007, I came to Australia and started a PhD at Macquarie University. Since I completed my PhD in 2012, I have been employed as a postdoc in the Perception in Action research group and I have recently been awarded an ARC Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA).
